C.R.A.Z.Y. is ever so much more enjoyable if you understand French. And it's not so much a "gay" movie, so much as a coming of age movie.
I have to say I agree about the lead -- and my favorite scenes is when he splashes his brother with wine, and the very end right before his brother breaks the record.
My wife and I could've passed on the montage of his brother's myriad partners.
I re-read my comment and it makes it sound like you can't enjoy it well without understanding french ... that's not true. You can as the prior two have attested. I think it just makes it so much above and beyond their level of enjoyment for me.
As it should--as "gay" cinema, it's so far my all time favorite.
ReplyDeleteAs just any old movie--it's still in my top favorites. It's so well done, and the music really brings it home.
The lead is super cute, too.
C.R.A.Z.Y. is one of my all-time favorite movies. Love it.

ReplyDeleteWhat can I say? I'm a francophile.
